Boosting Recruitment and Hiring in Grocery Stores
With the number of young people shrinking in the population, we needed to explore alternate labour pools to meet our industry's employment needs. We partnered on a project with the Ontario March of Dimes because of their expertise in working with people with disabilities. They had the resources we needed at the ready, and were responsive, proactive and reliable - in other words, they made our lives easy! They gave us a successful training model geared to our industry that we could customize and replicate provincially and nationally. The March of Dimes provided us with grocery-specific training that served as a great pre-screening tool. For this project, we had a 90% success rate in placing people with disabilities in jobs with career potential. Our employers are thrilled and eager to continue the momentum. Our partnership with the March of Dimes gave us credibility with employers and job candidates alike for future endeavours as well as enhancing our reputation as an industry that can be a "career of choice" with numerous career paths and great opportunities for promotion.

Accessibility Plans
AccessAbility Advantage (A+) helped our community to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Prior to working with A+, we weren’t fully aware of the details of the AODA or accessibility requirements for our Town. A+ worked with us in our community to audit our buildings, educate our staff and community and draft our Accessibility Plan and Accessible Customer Service Policy and Procedures. They stayed on schedule and met our expectations. We really enjoyed the process and look forward to continuing to improve accessibility in the future.

Facility Accessibility Audits
AccessAbility Advantage (A+) worked closely with us to support our funding application for accessibility improvements at our large recreation centres around the Greater Toronto Area. They conducted accessibility audits and fast tracked our reporting to create high-level tender documents, allowing us to obtain contractor quotes quickly. A+ provided us with exactly the services we needed within very tight timelines. Their expertise and service level exceeded our expectations and we look forward to working with them again in the future.

AccessAbility Advantage performed an Accessibility Audit of our eminent Royal Bank Plaza in Toronto. They were responsive, met our requirements and adjusted to our schedule. Their comprehensive report surpassed my expectations and some of their findings and recommendations were eye opening for me - a surprise given that I have been in the business for more than 30 years.
Blair Johnson, Operations Manager
Royal Bank Plaza, Oxford Properties Group
AccessAbility Advantage audited one of our condominium buildings to provide advice on how we could improve accessibility. They offered a number of recommendations, including a number of areas that we had not even considered. The corporation plans to implement a number of these recommendations as part of our ongoing building improvements.
Tom Redding, Property Manager
Shabri Properties Limited
AccessAbility Advantage audited the accessibility of a condominium / retail facility for a property involved in litigation. Their turnaround was fast and the information in their report exactly what we needed. I rate their performance five out of five.
